When despair, grief, and hopelessness feel overwhelming, where do we turn? To each other.
This event was born from a longing to create a space where we can come together — across identities, experiences, and communities — to hold what is heavy and to create something new in the midst of it. Because the truth is, what do we have if not one another?
At Colors of Austin Counseling, we believe joy is an act of resistance. Our rage holds wisdom. Our creativity is medicine. On October 19th, we invite you to gather with us in honor of Día de los Muertos, a time that reminds us that grief and celebration can exist side by side.
We’ll begin with a panel of licensed therapists sharing reflections on grief, transition, and the becoming of something new. Then, you’ll be invited to explore creative stations throughout our Berkman office — places where what’s in your head can move to your heart and into your hands. Whether you paint, write, build, or simply witness, you’re welcome to do what feels right for you.
This is a come-and-go event. You can stay for the panel, walk through the stations, or simply sit with community. Light refreshments and resources will be available, and donations to our Healing Access Fund will help make therapy accessible for those who cannot afford it.
We gather not to erase grief, but to remind each other that healing is possible when we hold it together.
This event is free and open to the public.
