Ecotherapy with Alyssa Ray
This offering is designed for individuals drawn to nature who are interested in incorporating its grounding and restorative qualities into their mental health care. Sessions may take place in the office or outdoors through walk-and-talk sessions, depending on therapeutic needs and client preference.
Alyssa integrates ecotherapy with mindfulness practices, parts work, and Trauma Conscious Yoga Method (TCYM) to support a holistic, body-based approach to healing.
What Is Ecotherapy?
Ecotherapy expands traditional talk therapy by emphasizing awareness of the body, senses, and surroundings. Rather than focusing solely on verbal expression, nature offers regulation, perspective, and a sense of connection that can make emotional processing feel more accessible and grounding.
This approach can be especially supportive for individuals who feel overwhelmed by office-based therapy or who benefit from movement, sensory input, and embodied practices.
Walk-and-Talk Therapy Sessions
Walk-and-talk therapy is a form of ecotherapy that takes sessions outdoors through gentle walking in a natural setting. These sessions can feel less intense and more spacious than sitting face-to-face, supporting openness and nervous system regulation through rhythmic movement.
Walking side-by-side may:
- Reduce pressure to maintain eye contact
- Support emotional regulation
- Encourage reflection and ease emotional processing
Sessions may alternate between outdoor and in-office settings depending on weather, therapeutic goals, and client preference.
