Faith-Based Therapy
Faith can be a powerful source of strength, hope, and healing. For clients who desire it, I offer faith-based therapy that thoughtfully integrates biblical beliefs with evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health care. This approach honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and creates space for God’s presence in the healing process.
I believe every person is created in the image of God and carries inherent worth, dignity, and purpose. In faith-based therapy, we explore how life experiences, relationships, trauma, and belief systems have shaped the way you see yourself, others, and God. Together, we gently examine wounds, patterns, and narratives that may be keeping you from experiencing the fullness, freedom, and peace God desires for you.
What Faith-Based Therapy Can Look Like
Faith-based therapy is always collaborative and client-led. For some clients, this may include:
- Integrating Scripture as a source of reflection, grounding, and truth
- Exploring spiritual beliefs, questions, or struggles
- Addressing shame, guilt, or fear through a lens of grace and compassion
- Incorporating prayer when appropriate and desired
- Examining how faith intersects with trauma, identity, relationships, and healing
My role is not to impose beliefs or provide spiritual direction, but to walk alongside you with humility, care, and curiosity—supporting both your emotional healing and spiritual growth.
Trauma-Informed and Somatic Care
As a somatic and holistic practitioner certified in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method (TCYM), I recognize that trauma is often stored not only in our memories, but also in our bodies. Faith-based therapy may include gentle, body-based practices that support nervous system regulation and help restore a sense of safety and connection.
I believe God designed us as integrated beings, and healing often occurs when we attend to the body alongside the heart and mind. Somatic practices can support clients in reconnecting with their bodies, deepening self-compassion, and experiencing God’s presence in a grounded and embodied way.
