Hello, my name is Alyssa, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I believe deeply that all people have intrinsic worth and value, and this belief guides both my personal life and my work as a therapist. I strive to build safe, trustworthy, and authentic relationships where clients feel seen, respected, and supported.
My approach to therapy is relational, somatic, and holistic, grounded in trauma-informed care. I am trained in The Daring Way™, and use Brene Brown’s research to help individuals build shame resilience. I work collaboratively with clients to create safety as they explore their inner experiences, patterns, and stories. I build a safe space for individuals to provide intentional healing to their inner child through somatic and parts work. I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities, including somatic practices, attachment-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, internal family systems (IFS), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), art therapy, parts work, play therapy, and nature-based approaches such as walk-and-talk therapy and ecotherapy.
As a certified Trauma Conscious Yoga Method (TCYM) practitioner, I incorporate body-based practices that support nervous system regulation and help clients reconnect with their bodies in a gentle, empowering way. I believe trauma is stored not only in our memories, but also in our bodies, and healing often occurs through increased awareness, compassion, and embodied presence. My role is to help clients identify beliefs and ways of living that are no longer serving them, while supporting them in reconnecting with their innate wisdom, authenticity, and resilience.
I have 10 years of experience supporting individuals through their healing journey’s. During that time I have worked within the school systems, domestic violence shelters, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and in private practice. I offer play therapy for younger children and enjoy working creatively and developmentally to help little ones express themselves and heal. My clinical focus includes complex trauma, life transitions, and intergenerational healing. I have worked extensively with immigrant youth and families, survivors of abuse and trauma, those working to heal their inner child, women experiencing domestic violence, and individuals navigating racial injustice.
I am passionate about social and racial justice and seek to create an inclusive, affirming space where all people—especially people of color—can access quality mental health care. I also offer faith-based therapy for clients who wish to integrate their spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process, honoring faith as a potential source of strength, meaning, and healing.
Outside of work, you can find me exploring trails and natural spaces throughout Austin and the surrounding areas. I love traveling, learning from different cultures and ways of life, and building deep, meaningful relationships with friends and family. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey.
