Hi, my name is Alex- it’s nice to meet you!
My personal lived experiences have shaped my passion for guiding and supporting clients with intergenerational healing. I believe we as humans are worthy of care and capable of change. My values are rooted in accessibility, cultural humility, collective care, collective liberation, and authenticity. These values inform and are reflected in how I show up inside and outside of the therapy space. I want to offer a space where you can safely and unapologetically discover and learn who you are: where you feel safe to discuss and process the weight (and grief) of navigating, surviving and adapting through our world.
I am an intersectional, anti-racist, eclectic therapist who works through a decolonial lens. I may also integrate breathwork, music, art, guided imagery, and movement within our sessions to assist with processing, exploration, and healing. I want to create a safe space where you do not have to perform. Within our sessions, we will explore together the connection between your experiences navigating society, thoughts, and language and its influence on your emotions and actions. Furthermore, we may explore and process past and present events in your life that have affected how you form relationships with yourself and others. We will work together to help you reconnect with yourself and gain a deeper understanding of your experiences through strengthening the mind-body connection. We will explore what liberation and healing can look like for your unique self.
I am a therapist because I am passionate about providing a non-judgmental, safe space for you as a client to feel heard, recognize your strengths, and develop self-compassion. You are worthy of feeling confident in your ability to make decisions in alignment with your goals. I understand that recognizing and feeling complex emotions throughout our therapeutic process can be challenging, especially while showing up to daily responsibilities. Therapy will go at your pace; please let me know if during our sessions you need to pause or if you ever feel uncomfortable moving forward with a topic. I am open to feedback.
When I am not working, I enjoy making jewelry, foraging, thrifting, and taking long walks through nature. I love video games; rhythm games specifically are a special interest of mine and are a part of my self-care routine. I also enjoy spending time with my loved ones and engaging with my community.
