Why I Do This Work

My own lived experiences are what led me to this work as a therapist. Through both the highs and lows of my life, I was fortunate to have someone there to help guide me through. Whether it was family, teachers, or friends. I knew I wanted to offer that same support to others navigating their own challenges.

I consider it a deep honor to be able to connect, heal, and grow alongside the people I work with. This is a privilege that I never take lightly. I genuinely love the work I do because I understand the impact we can have on each other for the better.

Approach to Therapy

My approach is relational, compassionate, and tailored differently to each individual. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all in therapy, which is why I adapt my clinical interventions to fit the unique needs of the person or couple I’m working with. I have extensive experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and integrate skill-building into sessions in an organic, natural way. With couples, I often draw from my training in the Gottman Method to help strengthen connection and communication. Additionally, I often use principles from Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), creating a flexible and effective blend that supports meaningful growth and healing. Together we can figure out what works best for you so that I may support you in the changes you would like to see in your life.

Education

Bachelor’s of Social Work from Texas State University & Master’s of Science in Social Work with a Clinical focus from The University of Texas at Austin.

Personal

I am a true-born and raised Austinite and love this city even though I have seen it change quite a bit! Outside of work I enjoy going on runs, attending music festivals, or grabbing a bite to eat with my friends. I spend a lot of time with my family and I have two guinea pigs named Dottie and Panda!

Favorite place in Austin: Lady Bird Lake

Favorite Saturday afternoon activity: Staying in and watching movies with my son.

Favorite self-care tip: When things get overwhelmingly busy I like to do a grounding exercise (super basic 5 senses) to bring me back to my body. It’s the easiest thing to do basically anywhere!

Favorite quote or affirmation: Siempre hay belleza en la lucha.

I feel most calm and content when: I am surrounded by the people I love.

I love learning about: People’s grandparents. No seriously, I want to know what you know about them and what kind of people they are/were!
