No matter where you are in Texas, we can still work together!

What is teletherapy?

Teletherapy is psychotherapy that occurs between a licensed counselor and a client online rather than at a physical location.

How does it work?

Once we’ve decided that teletherapy is a good fit for you, it is important that you identify a quiet, comfortable, and private room that is equipped with a computer, internet access, and web-cam. Then we will each log onto a safe, confidential online videoconferencing system to meet for your private counseling session. We use doxy.me as our platform for video sessions.

How is this different than traditional in-person counseling?

Other than not being in the same room together, there is little difference. Good news is that there are some advantages to online counseling that are worth mentioning! It is:

  • Accessible—no need to get in your car to go anywhere. Relief is a click away.

  • Easy—as simple as using Zoom or Facebook!

  • And comfortable—settle into your perfect chair in the comfort of your own home.

Are videos recorded?

No. There are no permanent videos or voice recording kept of our online sessions. Your privacy and confidentiality are of the upmost importance so great measures have been taken to protect them.

Who can you work with?

Our clinicians are licensed in Texas and are able to work with any individuals living in the state of Texas.

I’ll be traveling, can we still work together?

It depends on where and for how long you will be traveling. Let's talk about that and we can figure out whether online counseling with one of our clinicians is the best fit for you. If not, we’re happy to help you identify alternative options!

Will therapy sessions still be 50 minutes long?

Yes. The time does not change just because we are using video services.

Do I have to do video sessions?

Absolutely not. We provide in person counseling sessions at our office location. Teletherapy is a convenient option you can use if you're traveling temporarily, unable to get away from the office and/or just not able to come into the office on that particular day and time of your appointment.

Can I do a mixture of in-person and video sessions if I want to?

Yes! That is always an option.
