Farewell to 2024 and a Warm Welcome to 2025
As we close the chapter on this year, I reflect on all we’ve navigated over the past 12 months. Our Clinical Staff has grown and evolved in incredible ways. We’ve strengthened access to care through our Clinical Internship Program, forged meaningful Partnerships, expanded Group offerings, and had the pleasure of connecting with so many of you at various community events throughout the city.. We’ve bid farewell to beloved team members and welcomed new ones. We’ve relocated offices, faced overwhelming challenges, and experienced deep grief and loss. From a business perspective, this has been our most challenging year since our founding in 2018.
As the founder and CEO, I’ve been tested like never before. This year has been, without question, the hardest of my journey as a founder. I’ve faced profound personal and professional losses, stretched myself beyond my limits, and had to make swift, challenging decisions that deeply impacted me, our team, and those around us. There were moments when it felt like this might be the year we closed our doors—the year that broke me.
And yet, here we are.
I am deeply grateful for those who have stood beside me—friends, family, colleagues, and my incredible team. They’ve reminded me of the strength of what we’ve built, the importance of our mission, and the bright future we are working toward. I am grateful for the grit, resilience, and self-compassion I’ve found within myself to keep moving forward—not just for our clients, but for the team who continues to believe in our vision and trust in the work we are doing together.
What I know for certain is this: our team is resilient. They are driven by purpose and a belief in something far greater than themselves. Despite the challenges of the past year—the loss of loved ones, and countless personal and professional hurdles—they have continued to show up. For their clients. For the community. For each other. And most importantly, for themselves.
And I could not be prouder.
To all of you in our corner: thank you. Thank you for every like on social media, every referral, every connection, and every word of encouragement. Your support fuels us and reminds us why we do what we do.
As we step into 2025, we remain steadfast in our mission: to break down barriers to high-quality mental health services—regardless of race, gender, ability, sexual orientation, and/or socioeconomic status. We are here. We are committed. And we are not going anywhere.
Thank you for trusting us to serve you and your community. We look forward to continuing this journey together.
With gratitude and hope,
Vanessa Newton, LCSW-S
