Hello and howdy! I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field in Austin, working with an immensely diverse range of clients in an equally diverse range of environments—from public elementary schools to barns, trails and pastures.

I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic stress and other issues through experiential and more traditional models of therapy. I pull from a toolbox of modalities including somatic experiencing, mindfulness practices, EMDR, CBT and TF-CBT, sand tray, play therapy, The NeuroAffective Relational Model and others in order to meet the needs of you, my client, no matter what those needs may be.

I recently completed training and certification to become a facilitator in Dr. Brené Brown’s The Daring Way model. Through this work, I’ve come to understand deeply the roles that shame, vulnerability, empathy and courage play on the journey to live a more deeply fulfilled and wholehearted life. I love integrating this model into my work with children, teens, families and adults. It has been an eye-opening shift in my therapeutic approach and helped me better understand issues that underlie each and every one of us.

Prior to entering the private practice world, I worked primarily with children and families doing trauma-based counseling in the public school system and doing trauma-focused equine therapy in the Texas Hill Country. I have degrees in psychology and counseling from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth and St. Edward’s University here in Austin and am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

I believe that no matter the style of therapy offered, a safe, strong and deeply connected relationship is required for personal growth. My aim is not to see you as a collection of symptoms or a list of problems, but as a uniquely whole human seeking to find change in some area of your life.

I look forward to working with you!
